Sauteed Apples with Brandy

Serves 4

  • 5 Tblsp unsalted butter

  • ¼ c packed brown sugar

  • 4 apples from the farmers market, peeled, cored and sliced lengthwise Pinch of salt and freshly ground black pepper

Melt the butter in a large sauté pan over medium heat. Add the brown sugar and brandy and cook, stirring, until the sugar has dissolved. Add the apples and the salt and pepper and cook until the apples are tender.

Serve warm over ice cream.
