We're here to support Washington's small family farms.

Our mission is to support and strengthen Washington’s small, sustainable family farms by creating and operating vibrant, neighborhood-scale markets where farmers and food producers can sell their goods, develop relationships with customers, and grow their capacity to produce local ingredients and artisanal products. Local farms make our communities more welcoming, more food-secure, and much more delicious. Our mission is to help them thrive.

Our work supports farmers, shoppers, and communities.

More than operating the markets, we actively support farmers, educate consumers, and advocate for policies that make producing, selling, acquiring, and eating good food more attainable.

We Work For

about farm.jpg

A better living for farmers.

We help strengthen local farms and producers by advocating for direct-to-consumer producers, and organizing direct sales opportunities for them to connect with customers.

About food.jpg

Increased access for all.

We work with local, state, and federal entities to offer equal food and nutrition access to all Seattle residents.

about community.jpg

A strong community food system.

From market access to affordable nutrition, or work in the local food system centers on the connection between farmers and eaters.

Celebrating 30 Years of Neighborhood Farmers Markets

2023 marks the Neighborhood Farmers Markets’ 30th anniversary. Just as we did in 1993, we see a field of opportunity for local food to enrich our lives, relationships, and the planet. Moving forward, we are focused on providing support and resources for beginning and BIPOC producers in our markets. We opened a new weekday market at our Capitol Hill site, are creating an equipment library for new vendors, and are integrating action rooted in a more equitable food future for everyone.

Our mission is to strengthen Washington’s small-scale farmers and producers, and your support matters.

Whether you're supporting the Neighborhoods Farmers Markets by shopping, volunteering, or donating, we want you to see the impact we make together on the local food system and the health of our organization.
