Farmers Market Week 2025 Community Art Submissions

"... A GOOD FARMER IS A CRAFTSMAN OF THE HIGHEST ORDER, A SORT OF ARTIST."

- WENDELL BERRY  FARMER, AUTHOR, PROFESSOR

Farmers and artists are really doing the same thing—trying to conjure a little beauty out of the chaos. Whether it’s with a shovel or a paintbrush, they’re both solving human problems in creative, often messy, and deeply nourishing ways.

Since 1999, National Farmers Market Week has honored the magic that happens when farmers and communities come together. Every market is a collaborative act—no two quite the same, shaped by the quirks, tastes, and talents of its neighborhood.

The markets are a living work of art: part theater, part kitchen, part block party. And you? You’re the secret ingredient.

We had several artists come and paint live at the markets this year and also send in submissions of art that was inspired by the markets. We hope the following will inspire you to create some art yourself, whether in the kitchen with food or with a paintbrush. That’s up to you.

Bountiful Hands

Seasons impeccable timing:

the loving reminders to

Begin.

Nutrients pour into the food

Its components join from many directions.

Mother nature the primordial essential

ingredient.

Hats off to all involved!

To the many who seek, collaborate, and support

local farmer’s markets.

A standing ovation to the many hands that partake

In the process of seed to table!

Care and tenderness

Sweat steadfast and diligent

give fruit to the seasons offerings.

Cheers to the tummies of all who enjoy

visiting the farmer’s market and finding

inspiration

among

the bountiful hands!
