Three of our market cheesemakers won awards at the 2010 American Cheese Society Competition! Out of 225 cheesemakers from 34 states, Samish Bay Cheese’s Ladysmith took First Place in "Fresh Unripened Cow’s Milk Cheeses," and several other of their cheeses won 2nd and 3rd places in other categories. Mt. Townsend Creamery won First in the "Soft Ripened" category for their Seastack cheese. Estrella Family Creamery won First in "Smoked Italian styles" for their Weebles cheese. They also won First in Class for their Caldwell Crick Chevrette (Sheep or mixed milks). A Second Place Award was given to their Jalapeño Buttery (Flavored, peppers).
