Can You Can It? Beets

Late summer is notorious for being the time to can all of the delicious bounty that nature has to offer so that you can eat it all winter long, but if you missed your chance to can corn and peaches, worry not! Winter veggies can also be canned!

Our new series “Can You Can It?” will bring you info on how to can, and what to use your canned veggies for!

To can plain beets, you will need a pressure canner, but if you don’t have access to one you can still can your beets by pickling them. Pickling doesn’t last quite as long as pressure canning, but it is still a delicious way to eat beets all winter long.
