Our well-known and very popular annual contest celebrates 20 years this summer!  Originally inspired by the British TV show "Ready Steady Cook" (before America had Iron Chef!), the challenge is for each chef to create a dish using what's fresh on the market farm tables TODAY.  Each chef is allowed one personal secret ingredient, and each chef must also incorporate specific items gleaned from the U-District Food Bank.  Judges will rate each on quality of taste, use of local market produce, presentation, originality, technique, and demeanor under pressure.

Judges: Lara Hamilton (Book Larder), Chef Justin Legaspi (last year’s winner, Bateau), Octavio (Alvarez Farms)

Seating is limited, so come early for a good spot!
