The Food Week of Action is a time to highlight hunger issues and celebrate efforts to bring more justice and democracy to the food-farm system.

Food Week of Action includes World Food Day (Oct. 16), International Day for Rural Women (October 15), and International Day for the Eradication of Poverty (October 17).  Food Week is celebrated each year during the week surrounding World Food Day.

The 2019 Food Week of Action/World Food Day is focused on CLIMATE JUSTICE, FAMINE, and FOOD SOVEREIGNTY.

Food Week of Action seeks to amplify the solutions being developed by front-line communities, grassroots organizations, and national groups and coalitions to resist the harm in the dominant food and farm system, and to build more equitable and ecologically-sane systems in their place.
