You can donate directly to the Neighborhood Farmers Market Alliance! Your donation helps keep our farm/food-only markets thriving in seven Seattle neighborhoods, increases access to healthy local food for all, and supports our advocacy on behalf of local family farms.
The NFM promotes local food and farms, and is responsible for lobbying the Health Department to allow things we now take for granted, like cheese, eggs, fish, and meat being allowed in all Seattle farmers markets. We've worked with the City to reduce fees for farmers markets to stage in public areas (streets and parks). We started the now-citywide Fresh Bucks Program, which gives supplemental fresh produce to low income shoppers. Our food bank donation program links local food banks and market farmers so that healthy, nutritious food gets to those in need, whether they shop the markets or not.
This video from 2012 shows more about how the NFM's impact is felt by farmers, chefs, and low income shoppers. NFMA Video
